Hero Arts Scramble

Well today over on the Hero Arts Flicker group Natalie hosted a 90 minute scramble. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, you sign in on the given date and time and a challenge is posted. Then you have 90 minutes to create, photograph and upload your card to the group.

Today's challenge was "Christmas in July" with a twist. To use non-traditional colors, no Red or Green. Or you could create a card not Christmas related using Red & Green as the main colors.

Here is my card:

I received so many lovely comments from my flicker friends and I decided to share with you how this card came about.

Do you ever have an idea in your head and then as you create it all goes south... and you even mess the whole thing up, hahah. Well that is how this started. I started off stamping the Big Pine Bough (Hero Arts Stamp) across a 4 x 5.25 panel. Then I stamped some snowflakes below, planning to make them look like ornaments hanging down. I drew a white line up to the pine bough and hated it! This is when I decided I really need an ornament stamp, I can't believe I don't have one, lol. So I tossed it a side thinking what to try next...the clock was ticking. Well I kept looking at it and not wanting to give up I grabbed it out of the trash and cut off the part I didn't like, and cut it into thirds. From there it just came together so quick, I couldn't believe it!

So there you have it, from the garbage to the group and then here to the blog. If you're not familiar with the Hero Arts flicker group you should check it out! The ladies there are incredible. Go Here to be inspired and join all the fun.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful comments here and over at the flicker group. I appreciate your inspiration and friendship!

Hugs!
