2nd Post of the Day

Well I'm back with another post. I forgot today was the last day for the Play Date Cafe Challenge so I thought I would give it a go. I wish my card did these beautiful colors justice!

I had no idea which way I wanted to go with this but the patterned paper I used for the card was handy so I just went with it.

I didn't have the right color letter stickers so I used my Copic's to color some Basic Grey Sticker letters. I've been wanting to use the Rosette as a "Ribbon" for a while but wouldn't you know it...I didn't have one stamp in all my stash that had a # sign on it! I'm going to have to fix that!

Have a great day!!

This weeks PDC Challenge #94

I've been having some fun with my new Hero Art's stamps and decided to try my hand at this weeks color challenge at The Play Date Cafe.

I love the warm rich tones of these colors. I kept it pretty simple but really liked how it turned out. I used my new HA background stamp Flower Dot Pattern CG330. I stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on the yellow cardstock, backed  it with the teal and also stamped that in Rich Cocoa. I added the flowers and a little twine for a more country feel. The pearl was colored with Copic BG49.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

Another PDC Challenge

Wow I can't believe almost a week has gone by since my last post! Luckily I have these blog challenges to keep me focused, right :-)...

PDC Challenge #92

I love this photo collage. So much inspiration here. I hope you can see the pieces that inspired my card.

I started off by using the sketch pen function on my Silhouette. The Love was sketched using the Gold Metallic pen. Next I traced an outline of the "Love" and cut it out to use it as a mask. I blended Tattered Rose Distress ink for the background of the "Love" panel. I used the Hero Arts Digi Butterfly kit to create the butterflies. I again used my silhouette to do the butterflies as "print & cuts" then colored them in with Copic R32. The pink in the Love was done with Copic R81. I will tell you the nib on my marker didn't do well with the metallic ink from the Silhouette pen. (luckily I can replace the nib). I used Copi Y28, Lionet Gold to color the pearls, a Martha Stewart Border punch and the Hero Arts Old Letter Writing for the Card base background. It's hard to see but I wanted a soft text for the background and stamped in Antique Linen.

Thanks for stopping by, I have another card that I will try to blog later....job hunting is keeping me busy.

Play Date Cafe Challenge

#91

I feel like it's been weeks since I've participated over at the PDC! I love the splash of color challenges but since I didn't have much time I decided to do a real quick and simple card. So easy and fun to do. You could create these for every color of the rainbow.

Well I'm off to spruce up my Resume. I have an appointment with an agency tomorrow. I hope I will find something soon!! Wish me luck. It will be hard not being in the Paper Crafting industry anymore, but I have to do what I have to do!  If anyone out there knows of any opportunity's please let me know. I'm open.....

Another Challenge Card

The new Play Date Cafe challenge is a Splash of Color. I thought this would also give me the opportunity to make an ATC for the Hero Arts Challenge.

The challenge is to use only Black and White with a splash of color, this time Green. I had some scraps of Glossy Cardstock in the perfect size so I thought I would break out my alcohol inks and just play.

Here's what I came up with. I used Citrus and Meadow Alcohol inks and then stamped over it with black Staz-On, using the Dandelion Frame Cling stamp (CG153) from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're playing along with all these fun challenges.

Hello Bloggers

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We finally finished painting our living room and getting it all put together. Whew! Now on to the hall, and then the laundry room, oh and my husbands "man cave", lol. He decided since I have my Scrap Room he was going to claim a room for himself, Ha!

This week's Play Date Cafe Challenge #82 really inspired me to create something a little more shabby chic. Not a style I usually go to first but these colors really just lent themselves to that style and it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the challenge.

Usually when I begin working on a card I have an idea in my head and it NEVER turns out the way! I usually find my self wandering down different paths as I create or it's days before I finally sit down to work and I feel differently. But this time it really did come close.

I used my Silhouette to cut the doily out of cream cardstock. I then inked it up a bit with Antique Linen Distress ink and a little Brushed Corduroy. I also gave it a little spritz of Walnut Gold Glimmer Mist. Next I created the butterfly, also on the Silhouette. It's one of their print and cuts. This was also done in the cream cardstock and I colored it using Sea Glass Glimmer Mist. The script patterned paper is from Webster's Pages, and the light blue bottom paper is from Fancy Pants designs. The ribbon was also cream and I colored it with my Copic Markers, E50 (egg shell..I think). The flowers were cut out of the Tattered Florals die by Tim Holtz and a few pearls from Kaiser Craft which I colored using Copic Y21, Buttercup Yellow.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts CL497. I really enjoyed working on this card, I hope you enjoy it too!

On a more personal note I went to my nephew's last baseball game yesterday...one of the benefits of being back here in So. Cal. I had such a great time taking pictures and thought I would share one here.

I love the sheer determination on his face!

Thanks for stopping by...TTFN!

PDC81

Here is this weeks color challenge over at the Play Date Cafe.  http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/

I have to say this color pallet was a bit of a challenge for me, one of the reasons I'm submitting here at the last minute.  First off I didn't have anything in a light grey...lol. But once I got started I came up with 2 cards.

I decided on the first one for my submission. I used the Tim Holtz embossing folder to create the background. I then went over it with Pumice Stone distress ink to get as close to a grey background as I could. I used the smooch illuminate over the butterfly image on the pattern paper to help bring it out. Unfortunaly you can't see the glimmery goodness in the photo.
For this card I used a Hero Art's Cling stamp, CG248, stamped in Citrus Adirondak ink. The butterfly (CL115) and sentiment are also from Hero Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping by! And Thanks for the sweet comments, I do so appreciate them.
Hugs!
