Happy Easter...a little late but

what the heck. Better late than never right!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday filled with family and friends. We celebrated Passover on Saturday and Easter on Sunday...I love it when the 2 holidays are at the same time.

I thought I would share a few fun photos of some crafty things I did, the 2 cutest great nephews & neice a girl could ask for and ....wait for it.....

First of all here are the little Easter bags I did for my nephews...

H
here are my nephews with their Dad...
And my niece....who unfortunatly wasn't feeling well that day but she did try to give a little smile.

I created 100 "Happy Easter" labels on my silhouette for the leader of the children's ministry and she gave all her volunteers these wonderful jars of flowers. I have enjoyed mine all week at work.

and now a little video of the fun group I work with! So glad I found this creative bunch....this is a video they created to honor their volunteers during their Ovations Awards night. Thought this would be a fun way to share a little of my new environment. (One of these guys is my boss!!!!) LOL...the one in the pink!

Hope this made you smile!!!

Check this out...

My sweet friend Barb from the Hero Art's flicker group has a fantastic give away over on her blog. Check out this prize package...

To enter just go over to Barb's Blog  here

Barb was one of the first girls I "met" over on the Hero Art's Flicker group and she has been such a source of inspiration and encouragement. I feel blessed to call her a friend.

Here is a quick card I did yesterday for a special young couple I know. I started my new job today and it was a wonderful start. A very welcoming group of people and I'm looking forward to working with them, so.... I probably won't get much time to do my homework from the Clean and simple card class but I will try to catch up over the weekend.

As always thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to hop over to visit Barb's blog!!
Hugs,

It's been a crazy couple of days....

I had really hoped to get more of my homework from class done but sometimes life just happens! My husband had surgery on Thursday, outpatient shoulder surgery and I really thought being home taking care of him would give me plenty of time to enjoy my craft room, Ha! I feel like all I've done is cook, clean the kitchen, Ice duty, med's, laundry, taking out the garbage ect. ect. It made me realize how much he does help around here!

Anyway here are a few Valentine's Day cards I did a while back. I had actually submitted them for publication but they were not picked. So I thought I would share them here with you.

I just love these little owls and that Tim Holtz sentiment worked perfect for a heart.

For this one I did a lot of layering and masking. I found the big doily when I was unpacking from our move and kept it handy just for this purpose.
This was a fun CAS card that I added a little stickles to.

Oh and in the midst of all the craziness with my husbands surgery I received a call that afternoon that I got a job!!!! It is working in the church office where we started going back in October. It has been a long process but I landed it!!! I can't tell you how grateful I am for this opportunity. God is good!!!!

Hello Friends!

It's been a busy few days. I went to Vegas last Wednesday to help out at an event my scrappy friend Ginger puts on. Inspiration Unlimited. It was such a great event, 250 ladies, wonderful teachers, Teresa Collins, Joey from Bazzill, Jennifer Packard from My Mind's Eye and soooo many more. I helped with the on site store and as a class room assistant. The event is held at the Green Valley Ranch Spa and Casino in Henderson and it is one BEAUTIFUL place.

I had to fly home a day early however. My cousin's son was married on Saturday and it was such an amazing wedding!!! The setting was beautiful and the way they did it was very unique. It was out on a lawn with bales of hay around in a circle where we all sat. This is the second wedding I've been to where everyone sat around the couple and I just love the feel of bringing the 2 families together. Anyway it was just lovely so I thought I would share a couple of pic's along with a picture of the card I made for them.

Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow I have another job interview, I had one last week but haven't heard anything yet. I'm glad I'm at least getting the chance to interview. I will let you know how it goes!

Hello Friends!

I've been playing around a bit this weekend with my Distress Stains. I watched a video on the Tim Holtz blog this past week, so I thought I would jump in and try some of the techniques he shared. Here are some of the pieces I created and I'm working on turning them into cards.

I just started out with some white paper, mostly Bazzill. I just cut 81/2 x 11 pieces into 4's (4.25x5.5) and started trying the different techniques. I really would like to find some other cardstock to try as well. In the video he uses his tags and there are a few things that didn't work out as well on the Bazzill. Anyway you can see one of the cards I came up with  below.

For this I just heat embossed the Lg Lotus pattern in White and then swiped the distress stains across. The colors I used here are Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo. This was so easy!! I have a few more colors on order and can't wait to get them. Especially the Picket Fence. He shows some really cool stuff with that. I finished another card tonight with another piece in the photo so I will get it photographed and uploaded tomorrow. Sometimes it's just fun to play and get inky! It's one of my favorite things to do!!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friday

Yes it is finally Friday! Although in my current state of "unemployment" I'm not sure it matters what day it is! The day of my last post I was feeling so excited and inspired by the fun colors from the of the Play Date Cafe Challenge. Then Monday hit and I've been in such a funk! I haven't been unemployed or looking for work in nearly 20 years and it's so different now. The past 10 years I have had the joy and the pleasure of working in the Paper Crafting business and I REALLY miss it. Prior to that I did Mortgage Lending and that is certainly not an option in this "housing crisis".

I did get some great inspiration from "Heather Maria" over at the Hero Arts Flicker site. Click Here for the link to her project. I have a wedding shower to go to tomorrow so I totally cased her idea.

On Heather's blog she gave directions on how to create the box, but I just used an envelope to create a little bag. It was a bag I saw Lisa Spangler do in the fall over on the Hero Arts Blog.

Thanks for stopping by, sorry if my post was a little down, just how I'm feeling right now. I hope to play on Sunday so maybe that will pick me up a bit.

Hugs!

Hello Friends!

I hope your Memorial Day weekend will bring you rest, relaxation and sunshine!!

I had a very lucky week .... I made the Fab 4 over at The Play Date Cafe! I was so excited and honored to be among the top 5 out of 111 fabulous creations. To see all the wonderful entries go here.  I was also  featured on the Create Blog last week for the Denim Challenge. You can see all the great cards here.
These challenges are so fun and have been keeping me inspired. If you aren't participating you should be!

I realized the other day that I had not posted the rest of  the layouts from the calendar I made for my new Niece. So here they are.

I wish you all a very happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend!!

Happy Friday!!!

Wow it's been a quick week here for me. I've been so busy painting and still getting the yucky errands done. Like the DMV, smog check, driver's license. I had to take the written test here and it's been 20 years since I had to do that! I passed :-).

I've been finding little bits and pieces of time to get some card making in so, here is a quick card I made this week. I even found the post office and sent this one and one from my last post to a couple of friends.

Getting cards sent is one of my new goals :-) I need to send them, not just make them, lol.

Today is my Sister's birthday so here is a fun little card I made for her. Not a great photo from my Cell phone.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I have a little "how to" card to post here and at Scrapbook Paradise so I hope I find time to get to it this weekend. If not I will do it Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs.
